Cassie works in one of Weston Global’s Reclamation Centers. While set in 2151, the world still depends on century old technology. Due to massive climate disruption in the latter half of the 21st century, scientific and technological progress was slowed and old technology must be maintained to keep civilization afloat.

Cassie’s father is recruited by Weston Global. With personal bankruptcy outlawed, the controlling corporations in 2151 can “recruit” people who owe their company a debt and have them work for them where ever on Earth, or on any of their operations in orbit or throughout the solar system.
